What to expect this week.

Hello, readers. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Did you get to one of the NEHW appearances? Or did you go see the new release My Soul to Take? Or did you rent some movies?

I did the rental thing. I rented The Karate Kid (2010). It could have been a real horror show. It wasn’t. It honored the original. It even had a soul of its own. A lot of remakes can’t stand by itself, but this movie does. Jaden Smith is going to be a movie star just like his dad, Will Smith. I wanted to rent The Human Centipede. My local Blockbuster doesn’t carry it. I went to a Blockbuster in another town. They have one copy which was rented out. I went to a couple Redboxes. They didn’t have it. I ended up calling Best Buy 25 miles away. They had three copies. Long story short, I now own the movie. The movie didn’t live up to the hype. I wasn’t satisfied. I have seen more disturbing images in the Saw, Hostel and Final Destination movies. This still won’t keep me from seeing the sequel that is in the works. I can always hope that the next movie will be more satisfying.

Now onto what you can expect from this blog this week, there will be entries about more NEHW appearances and the release of a book written by a NEHW member.  One of the appearances will be big. It will allow horror fans to meet a number of NEHW members. Keep coming back this week and find out what I am talking about.

NEHW staff on Cinema Knife Fight

Our very own Dan Keohane, Co-Chair of the NEHW, has a review of the movie, PI on http://cinemaknifefight.com. He is a frequent contributor to the site. This is a great movie site. I am not just saying that since I have written for them in the past. The movie site is run by L.L. Soares, who use to run NEHW with Keohane, and Michael Arruda. Check out the different movie reviews and columns the site has to offer.
