Wallman, of Marlborough, CT., who turns nine on September 13, is a big fan of Stephen King. He is currently reading King’s It. He loves reading horror and watching horror movies, he said. He will grow up to be a horror writer or a make-up artist, his mom, Sheena said. He dressed up as the Cryptkeeper from Tales from the Crypt last Halloween and did his own make-up, his mom said. This year he will be dressing up as the Leprechaun from the 1993 movie Leprechaun.

The Final Day of the Fair

The booth has been set up and author Stacey Longo is talking with Michael, the newest person promoting the Hartford Courant next door, while he browses the books to see if he can use them in an English class.

Today, the booth will be hosting authors Longo, Kurt Newton, Nathan Wrann, Kristi Petersen Schoonover, Jennifer Yarter-Polmatier, and ghost hunter Nathan Schoonover. The fair opens at 9 a.m. and closes this evening at 8 p.m. Come on by and meet some interesting people. You won’t regret it.

It has been a lot of fun having a booth at the Hebron Harvest Fair. I have only gone though a few of Longo’s stress balls promoting her website, www.staceylongo.com. Who knew you could squeeze a stress ball to the point where it has become ineffective.

Live Blogging from the Hebron Harvest Fair

The third day is going well. The authors haven’t risen up with their pens to kill me because of my anal retentiveness or controlling personality.

The books are selling, the authors are happy even in the sun, and the NEHW t-shirts are selling well.

I have to thank the Hartford Courant people who allowed us to use their booth since we had so many authors at our booth. They allowed us to hang out and just relax while other authors were talking with horror fans. If you ever need the Courant and you live in Connecticut, you can’t go wrong with calling Ray Tedeschi at 860-758-7799 or Edward Carella at 860-232-7272 to sign-up for home delivery. Our authors even picked up some pointers from Jeff Sobiech on getting the NEHW name out there. So if you live in the state and you are visiting a fair, go visit the Hartford Courant booth. I would tell you to go talk to Jeff, but if he is running the booth he will come out to talk to you even before you get to his booth. He is an interesting man and it was great talking to him.

It is time to go eat some more fair food. While I am gone, please read the entries from the last couple of days. There is some interesting information within these entries.

Author’s New Short Story and Upcoming Appearance

Author Kurt Newton’s short story, “Space Sucks…and Then You Die,” is now available in issue #8 of Polluto (http://www.polluto.com).

Newton calls his story “a blackly humorous and nourish tale of pool sharks, bar flies and the ultimate payback.”

Newton will be appearing at the Hebron Harvest Fair with other NEHW authors from Sept. 8 through 11. He will be selling and signing copies of Breaking Eggs, a novella he co-wrote with L.L Soares. He will also have two poetry collections on hand, The Ultimate perVERSEities and Life Among the Dream Merchants.
